Faced with the empire, Twitter strikes back

Twitter, which is the subject of a hostile takeover bid by Elon Musk, does not intend to let it go: the network took measures on Friday supposed to prevent the boss of Tesla - and most man wealthy in the world -- to easily redeem his shares. This is the so-called "poison pill" clause in financial jargon: the Californian group plans to sell off its shares for all other shareholders. It will be triggered if Elon Musk exceeds 15% of Twitter shares without the agreement of the board of directors (CA). Elon Musk already owns just over 9% of the company's capital. If he buys back enough shares to reach the 15%, all the other holders of shares on the platform will be able to buy them back at a reduced price, which would greatly increase the price that the entrepreneur would have to pay to get his hands on the social network. The plan must "reduce the possibility that any entity, person or group will take control of Twitter by accumulating stock in the market without paying

USA: Texas' oldest death row inmate soon to be executed at 78

At 78, he is the oldest death row inmate in Texas. Carl Buntion is due to be executed on April 21, after being convicted more than thirty years ago of the murder of a policeman. But an appeal has been brought by his supporters who consider that his age no longer represents any danger to society. During an intervention for a common traffic violation in Houston, Carl Buntion shoots and kills police officer James Irby. Sentenced to the death penalty, he saw this verdict overturned in 2009 by the highest Texas court, which considered that the defense could not be properly heard by the jurors. But in 2012, he was again sentenced to death. In this case, Carl Buntion's defenders are not seeking to prove his innocence.
