Despite takeover by Elon Musk, Donald Trump has no plans to return to Twitter

The former president of the United States wishes to favor his own Truth Social platform, created to offer an alternative to traditional social networks deemed too biased towards Democrats.

Donald Trump welcomes  the takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk  but that will not make him change his tune. The former president of the United States ruled out the possibility , Monday, April 25, of making his return to Twitter, despite the takeover of the platform by the billionaire of South African origin.

"I'm not going to Twitter, I'm staying on Truth," he told Fox News. The former tenant of the White House thus intends to favor  the Truth Social platform , which he created in February in  order to offer a conservative alternative to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, of which he is a recurring critic of moderation policies.

"I hope Elon buys Twitter because he'll make improvements and he's a good guy, but I'm sticking with Truth," he said. “We attract millions of people and we find the response on Truth to be much better than on Twitter,” which “has bots (automated computer programs) and fake accounts,” he said. A point on which Elon Musk promised improvements in the press release published to announce the takeover of the network on Monday.

"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital public square where issues vital to the future of humanity are debated," Elon Musk said on Monday.
