Mexican scientists develop therapy against inflammation by COVID-19

The study, carried out at the National Institute of Nutrition, used polyvinylpyrrolidone collagen, also known as fibroquel, a 100% Mexican medicine, whose main effect is the regulation of inflammation, both locally and systemically.

Mexican scientists developed a protocol with a drug that has been shown to help treat the inflammatory process caused by COVID-19 , which allows not only to avoid a serious condition, but also to curb the long-term effects of this disease.

“The inflammation caused by covid-19, if it is extremely serious, can affect the lungs, but also other organs such as the heart, kidney, pancreas, liver and produce multi-organ failure ,” the doctor told Efe. Janette Furuzawa , leader of the team that conducted a study in Mexico.
