The 2022 Met Gala pays homage to America's Golden Age

Both a charity event, a social evening and a fashion show, the 2022 edition of the Met Gala was held this Monday in New York. This year's theme: Gilded Glamor and White Tie , a direct reference to the Gilded Age or American Golden Age. Beginning around 1865, this “Belle Époque” in the history of the United States was marked by economic prosperity that contrasted with the Civil War that had just ended. It is also a period when racial, social and economic inequalities are most marked.

Sarah Jessica Parker , known for playing fashionista Carrie Bradhaw in the hit series Sex and the City , paid tribute to the exuberant headgear of the time. The one who can spend several months thinking about the outfit she will wear also wanted to echo the economic and social disparities of the time.

According to Vogue magazine , Sarah Jessica Parker's ensemble designed by Christopher John Rogers references a design by Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley. 

First black milliner in the White House, she notably dressed the first lady Mary Todd Lincoln.

United States: a hospital refuses a heart transplant to an unvaccinated patient
