HURRICANE IAN: DUE TO FLOODING, A SHARK SPOTTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET

The impressive rising waters also caused a lot of material damage.

The Florida authorities had warned. As Hurricane Ian headed toward the US state , already causing extensive damage and massive flooding , the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) warned that weather conditions would make wildlife more active.

What the FWC did not foresee, however, was the presence in the streets of Fort Myers of a shark, carried by the powerful rising waters in this coastal city violently hit by the winds and rains of Ian. The impressive video, relayed on social networks, shows the imposing visibly disoriented shark, which turns in circles.

In terms of impromptu visitors, Florida has not been outdone in recent hours. In the streets of Lake County, an alligator was seen near homes. In these extreme weather conditions, the latter are stressed and it is advisable to stay at a good distance from them

Also on Twitter, a photograph shows a group of about ten flamingos that have been sheltered in a room at Sunken Gardens, a Florida botanical garden. Without it, they probably wouldn't have survived the high winds.
